Snappers members can submit a maximum of two* (2) entries each month into the group's monthly competition.
This gives members' an opportunity to hone their skills taking underwater images, photo editing and submitting entries for specified subject categories. It also gives members the confidence to submit images into open competitions both in Australia and overseas. Unless specified, images for each category can have been taken over any time period.
Entries are due midnight last Sunday of each month but can be submitted any time from 1st of each month.
Photos may be tagged with a description of the subject(s).
Emails MUST include in the subject line - the month and category.
Images are uploaded to Snappers' website and judging will take place by experienced photographers and judges.
See Gallery for previous entries.
Resizing Your Images For Submission
Please save resized copies of your images [in your preferred image editor] such that the longest edge is 1024 pixels long.
If you can restrict image size by file size then aim for a maximum image file size of 800KB.
In Photoshop you can make use of the Image Processor (File > Scripts > Image Processor).
In Lightroom you can adjust settings using the Export feature (select your edited image then click on "Export..." while in Library mode, or from the popup menu in Develop mode).
Snappers point score system - all competitors will be placed in the same level of competition
In 1 September 2012 a point score system was set up to encourage members to submit images.
Note: There are no sheep stations at stake!
Over a 12 month period (1 July - 30 June) members will receive 1 point for every image they submit each month.
In addition, the monthly categories will be awarded points for highly commended, 3rd, 2nd and 1st places (1,2,3 & 4 points respectively). A perpetual trophy will be awarded in July each year to the winners.
